Justice Summit 2019 Lakewood Scholarship Application – due date for housing choices and scholarship requests is April 19.

Meeting location

Lakewood is on Lake Erie and the west side of Cleveland, Ohio, host of the 2014 Gay Games.

In 2016, Lakewood passed a non discrimination policy protecting LGBTQ folx.

Cleveland airport is about 20 minutes from Lakewood.

Cleveland is also served by Amtrak.

Event housing

Lodging choices are VRBO house and Travelodge.

The Vacation Rental By Owner (VRBO) house is in a residential neighborhood in walking distance to restaurants and bars. The home has 3 floors and no elevator. There are steps accessing the house.

The Travelodge looks unimpressive on the outside and clean and nice inside. Within a few blocks are nearby restaurants, small shopping center and a coffee shop. The hotel has 2 floors with no elevator. The rooms are on the small side. If you seek a microwave and frig request that as they are not in every room.

We have 5 rooms (we can have more if needed) with double beds held at the Travelodge and 8 people in the VRBO house. Both locations are in Lakewood. The links will give you more information.

Folks have graciously offered home stays as well.

This Movement works at the non-hierarchical intersection of oppressions and is committed to inclusion and community, acknowledging the deep and lasting damage that is caused by racism in our society. In that light, and in striving toward equity, people from communities of color will be given first choice in lodging selection.

The VRBO rate is $50/person/night. (3 nights). Travelodge is $91/night/room.

Please call the Travelodge directly to book your room 216-221-9000. Ask for Colleen. To request lodging at the VRBO house, email the planning team: justchurch@cwac.us by April 19.

Please note additional needs on your registration application in regard to housing so that they can be addressed.
